Bali (The Indonesian News) – President Prabowo Subianto personally inspected the progress of one of the People’s Schools (Sekolah Rakyat) outside Java, located in Tabanan, Bali. The People’s School program is one of the president’s priority initiatives.
Prabowo arrived at the 17 Tabanan People’s Junior High School (SRMP) in Bali at 11:42 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA), or 10:42 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), on Sunday (June 7, 2026 ). His arrival in Bali was warmly and vibrantly welcomed by students and local residents who had been waiting in the school area.
As soon as the car carrying Prabowo the Maung RI 1, Indonesia’s proud presidential vehicle entered the school grounds, the students immediately shouted in unison, singing cohesively to greet his arrival.
“Welcome, President Prabowo!” the students of SRMP 17 Tabanan called out.
Not only that, the welcoming atmosphere grew even livelier with a performance of the Kecak dance, a traditional Balinese dance, presented by students of SRMP 17 Tabanan.
The distinctive rhythm of “cak… cak… cak…” accompanied the coordinated movements of the young students as they performed energetically before Prabowo.
After the brief performance, Prabowo also took time to shake hands and greet the students who had performed the Kecak dance.
Prabowo also paused for brief conversations with several students. The President appeared to interact warmly and harmoniously with them. Prabowo’s activities continued with an inspection of the facilities and learning processes at SRMP 17 Tabanan.
Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasized that the People’s School program is part of Prabowo’s directive to ensure educational access for children who are not yet enrolled in school or are at risk of dropping out.
“This People’s School is a direct directive from the President. There is no paid registration; there can be no placements based on connections. We are reaching children who have so far been untouched by educational services,” Saifullah said.
