Bogor (The Indonesian News) – President Prabowo Subianto has called on the Indonesian National Police to always be among the people, defend them, and feel the suffering they endure.

This was conveyed by Prabowo while leading the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration ceremony at the Brimob Satlat Cikeas in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday (July 1).

According to Prabowo, the Police must have a strong character because they were born from the struggle for independence. Since its inception, the Police have been involved in the fight to defend independence, giving them a strong closeness to the people.

“That is why the Indonesian National Police have always been among the people and must always defend the people, feeling their suffering,” Prabowo emphasized.

The President also expressed appreciation for the various transformations continuously undertaken by the Police, including their active involvement in supporting strategic government programs under Prabowo’s administration that directly address public needs.

He assessed that the Police now play a major role in strengthening national food security, particularly through the development of corn production and the construction of quality food warehouses in various regions.

“I have seen with my own eyes the Police building highly needed food warehouses warehouses of very good quality,” he continued.

On the same occasion, the President also praised the Police’s contribution in supporting the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal program. For Prabowo, the Police have built more than a thousand Nutrition Service Units, or MBG kitchens, which he considered to be of very high quality.

“I do not hesitate to say here that the kitchens built by the Police are the best kitchens. And this is not just my words. Many observers and reviewers from international institutions have come to Indonesia to see these kitchens, and most of what they saw were kitchens built by the Police,” Prabowo emphasized.

Not only that, Prabowo also appreciated the Police’s role in assisting communities through the construction of boreholes, bridges, and their presence on the front lines during disasters.

“This is the spirit that you must continue to uphold,” he added.

Prabowo expressed hope that this spirit of service would continue to define every member of the Bhayangkara, in line with this year’s theme: “80 Years of Service, Police for the People.” According to him, the Police must continue to be present for the people, work for the people, protect the people, and serve the nation and state.
