New Delhi (The Indonesian News) – A feeling of nervousness was felt by Indah Permata Sari, a student at the University of Delhi, when she met President Prabowo Subianto in person. For Indah, the meeting was not just an ordinary agenda. There was a sense of happiness and emotion because the figure she had only seen on a screen was finally present so close before her.
“Actually, until now I am still nervous. Especially since earlier there was a long Q&A session. But overall, I am very happy to meet Mr. President in person. Usually I only see him on a screen,” Indah said after the welcoming ceremony for Prabowo in New Delhi, India, on Saturday (September 12).
The moment of shaking hands with Prabowo became one of the most memorable experiences for her. “Today I was able to shake hands directly. I am happy,” she said.
Moreover, Indah and the group from the Indonesian Embassy had to wait since morning. They had been at the location since 06:00 to welcome Prabowo’s arrival.
Behind the joy of the meeting, Indah holds a simple hope for the President: strength in carrying out the mandate of leading Indonesia.
“May Mr. President always be healthy and kept away from bad things. Hopefully, Mr. President can bring Indonesia to become Golden Indonesia as has been said,” she said.
As a student currently pursuing education abroad, Indah sees education as one of the important keys to realizing the Golden Indonesia vision. Therefore, she appreciates the government’s various efforts in opening access to scholarships and learning opportunities for Indonesia’s younger generation.
According to Indah, support for education is not only about providing opportunities to learn but also ensuring that the younger generation has conditions that support them to grow and develop.
She also touched on the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program. Indah believes that attention to children’s nutritional needs is a form of support that is no less important in the world of education.
“I think the program is good, because it supports not only from the outside but also from within. What I mean is, the nutritional needs of schoolchildren are also given attention,” she said.
She hopes that these policies will continue to be strengthened so that more Indonesian children have the opportunity to learn, develop, and obtain a better education.
“In my opinion, Mr. President greatly helps and supports Indonesian educators and students in pursuing a better education,” she concluded.
