Jakarta (The Indonesian News) – After being inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto as Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition, Bahlil Lahadalia stated his readiness to accelerate the implementation of the downstreaming and energy transition programs.
He emphasized that his new position is a state mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility.
“I know this is a mandate, a state responsibility that I must bear, and I will carry out my duties well, both as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and as Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition,” Bahlil said at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (October 1).
Bahlil stated that downstreaming and energy transition are part of President Prabowo’s administration agenda that needs to be consolidated more strongly between ministries.
“We know that Mr. President has programs, one of which in the Asta Cita is about downstreaming and energy transition, and this must be able to be consolidated through the Coordinating Ministry to accelerate future execution,” he said.
With this new position, Bahlil will have a coordinating role as Coordinating Minister in the downstreaming agenda, while also continuing to handle technical matters in the energy and mineral resources sector through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
For the time being, Bahlil ensured that his activities as Coordinating Minister for Downstreaming and Energy Transition will remain based at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. According to him, this decision is inseparable from the large portion of downstreaming investment related to the energy and mineral resources sector.
He also explained that the position of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is a technical ministry that will later be under the coordination of the coordinating ministry he leads. “The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming is within the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry,” he explained.
In addition to Bahlil, President Prabowo also inaugurated a number of ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of institutions. Among them were Sugiono as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Dudung Abdurachman as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Arrmanatha Nasir as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and M. Sarmuji as Minister of Industry.
In the deputy minister ranks, Dradjad Hari Wibowo was inaugurated as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Luky Alfirman and Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman as Deputy Ministers of Finance, Muhammad Saleh Mustafa as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and Irwan Meilano as Deputy Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
The President also filled a number of state institution positions, including Listyo Sigit Prabowo as Head of the Presidential Staff, Dedi Prasetyo as Head of the National Agrarian Reform Agency, Fadil Imran as Deputy Head of the North Java Coast Management Authority Agency, and Arianto Wibowo as Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
