Paris – The presence of President Prabowo Subianto during the Idul Adha 1447 H prayer at Wisma Indonesia in Paris, France, on Wednesday, May 27, brought happiness and deep impression to the Indonesian diaspora in that country.
They expressed their joy at being able to celebrate Idul Adha with Prabowo and considered the moment a reflection of the strong family bond among Indonesian citizens abroad.
Since the morning, Indonesian citizens and diaspora members had enthusiastically filled the Wisma Indonesia area to perform the Idul Adha congregational prayer with Prabowo.
A warm and familial atmosphere was felt throughout the solemn Idul Adha prayer. After the prayer, Prabowo was seen engaging in friendly fellowship and shaking hands with the Indonesian diaspora present.
One Indonesian diaspora member in Paris, Dini Indriyani, said she felt double the happiness because she could perform the Idul Adha prayer with Prabowo.
For Dini, who has lived in Paris for 15 years, this moment left a deep impression because it made her feel as if she were celebrating Idul Adha with the extended Indonesian family even though she was far from home.
She hoped that Prabowo’s presence during this Idul Adha prayer would also bring happiness to other Indonesian diaspora members.
“The happiness is double. Praying with the President really felt like praying with the extended family of the Republic of Indonesia,” she said when met.
Dini also hopes that the prayers offered together during the Idul Adha prayer will bring goodness to Indonesia. She also prayed that Prabowo would always be given good health in leading Indonesia and maintaining good bilateral relations between Indonesia and France.
“All the problems of our nation will soon be resolved. May the President always be healthy, and may the relationship between Indonesia and France continue to improve,” she added.
Similar joy was felt by Azrina, another Indonesian diaspora member in Paris. She considered worshipping with Prabowo a rare and meaningful opportunity.
“Praying with the President is an extraordinary opportunity for me. It just so happens that the President is on an official visit, and it coincides exactly with Idul Adha, so he could take the time to meet with Indonesian citizens in France,” she said.
Azrina also hopes that Prabowo will always be granted wisdom in making decisions to lead Indonesia forward. Additionally, she hopes that the Indonesian diaspora in various countries, especially in France, can continue to maintain their solidarity and togetherness.
Similar impressions were also felt by young Indonesian diaspora members in Paris, Shafa and Jelita. Both admitted to being nervous but also happy to be able to meet Prabowo directly after having only seen him on television.
For them, this experience felt even more special as it became a sweet memory of their first Idul Adha prayer in Paris.
“We were quite nervous, then very happy, also felt honored. Usually we only saw him on TV, now we could see him in person,” they said.
