Vladivostok (The Indonesian News) – Indonesian students currently studying in Russia also feel proud of President Prabowo Subianto’s presence at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok. This proud moment was felt by Maria Benedikta (25), a student of Public Administration at Vladivostok State University.
The student from Merauke, South Papua, expressed how happy she was to meet Prabowo in person.
“I feel very happy to meet the President of the Republic of Indonesia in Vladivostok, Russia. And this is the first time I have met Mr. President, and not in Indonesia, but in Russia,” Maria said during an interview on Wednesday (September 2).
According to Maria, Prabowo’s presence, especially in Vladivostok, is a source of pride for Indonesian students in the city.
“This is the first time Mr. President has come to Vladivostok in eastern Russia, so of course we are very happy that he is here for all of us Indonesian students in Vladivostok, Russia,” she said.
Maria hopes that Prabowo’s presence at the Eastern Economic Forum 2026 can bring positive impacts. She also offered her prayers and hopes for Prabowo to always be given strength in carrying out the mandate to lead Indonesia.
“The arrival of the President of Indonesia at the Eastern Economic Forum (is hoped) to bring positive impacts here,” she said.
Another Indonesian student, Manik Kusuma Ningtias, also expressed how proud she was to meet Prabowo directly. This meeting was even more special as it was her first time communicating and shaking hands with him.
“As one of the students on this campus, I am very proud. This is also the first time I have met Mr. Prabowo, been able to communicate directly, and shake his hand,” said Manik, who is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Transport Engineering at Far Eastern Federal University.
She hopes that the meeting and Indonesia’s participation in the EEF can open up more cooperation opportunities between the two countries. Manik also hopes that more economic forums in Russia will invite honored guests from Indonesia.
“My hope is that with Mr. President’s presence at one of the largest economic forums in Russia, there will be even more economic cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in the future,” she said.
