Bangkalan (The Indonesian News) – President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed his commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring that he will never give any room for misconduct within his administration.

According to him, the government must be run cleanly because this is a fundamental prerequisite for advancing the nation and ensuring public welfare.

He noted that Indonesia is a wealthy country, and thus requires a government with high integrity to ensure that this wealth is distributed fairly.

“The government must truly not be corrupt. There must be no corruption in the government of the Republic of Indonesia,” Prabowo said during the closing ceremony of the National Conference of Ulama and Grand Conference of Nahdlatul Ulama at IAI Syaichona Mohammad Cholil in Bangkalan, East Java, on Tuesday (June 23).

He acknowledged that the fight against corruption is not an easy task. However, these efforts must continue for the sake of the state and the people.

One of the steps already taken by the government is closing various leaks in state revenue.

Prabowo said the government has closed hundreds of mines without proper Mining Business Permits (IUP) and illegal plantations located in forest areas through the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH).

In addition, the government is also working to stop fraudulent practices in the export of strategic natural resource commodities through export governance policies, which are expected to prevent state wealth from flowing abroad.

“I understand this is not light work. But whatever it takes, we must do what is necessary to save our country,” he added.

Furthermore, Prabowo assessed that these various irregularities have caused the loss of state wealth that rightfully belongs to the people and the nation.

“These irregularities, in my belief, are what have brought our nation to its current state where we must acknowledge that too much state wealth has been lost, taken from the rights of the people, from the rights of the nation,” he emphasized.

Prabowo also stressed that his commitment to eradicating corruption is part of the responsibility he bears as head of state. He affirmed that he will carry out this mandate to the best of his ability so as not to break the oath he took upon assuming office.

“I was sworn in to protect the interests of the nation and the people. That is why I must do the best I can, so that I do not break my oath to the nation and the people,” he concluded.
