Prabowo Receives Appreciation from Palestinian President for Indonesia’s Loyal Support of the Palestinian People

Jakarta (The Indonesian News) – President Prabowo Subianto held a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. During the call, Abbas expressed his highest appreciation to Indonesia for its unwavering support of the Palestinian people.

The appreciation was conveyed during the two heads of state’s discussion on the latest developments and current situation in the Middle East. The moment was also shared by Prabowo on his official X account, @prabowo, in a post uploaded on Monday (June 15).

“President Abbas expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s loyal support of the Palestinian people,” Prabowo wrote.

In the same post, he also reaffirmed Indonesia’s support for the two-state solution regarding the situation in Palestine.

Previously, on several occasions, Prabowo had often emphasized the importance of a two-state solution to achieve sustainable peace while ensuring full independence and sovereignty for Palestine.

This aligns with Indonesia’s stance, which since its own independence has always considered Palestine a close friend with strong historical and emotional ties. In various international forums, Indonesia has consistently remained at the forefront in pushing for a just and dignified peace for Palestine.

“I affirm Indonesia’s firm commitment that the two-state solution is the only path to sustainable peace in Palestine,” Prabowo said.

Throughout this time, Prabowo and Abbas have developed very close relations. Their closeness has been built not only through diplomatic ties but also through warm friendship.

One example was seen during the Eid al-Fitr holiday of 1447 Hijriah, when Prabowo personally conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings to Abbas via telephone.

This communication was part of Prabowo’s series of friendly outreach with leaders of friendly nations, as well as an effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine.
